Frankie Waters budget proposes new $95K Director of Communications | Eastern NC Now

Beaufort County budget is a boondoggle

ENCNow

Do Beaufort County taxpayers need to be saddled with a new expense of $95,000 per year for a "Director of Communications".  Our liberal county manager and our liberal county commission chairman Frankie Waters seem to think so.  The manager proposed this absurd boondoggle and Frankie Waters has supported it and voted to keep it in the budget against an attempt by Commissioner Stan Deatherage to remove it.

While Beaufort County has lost population in the last census, the Waters regime has responded by adding more county employees.  This is just the latest and most ridiculous one.  After it passed, Commissioner Deatherage pledged to "snap the neck" of this position (end it).  He is completely right.  This is a major taxpayer ripoff.

These idiots also want to expand the county jail at a time we are losing population.

It is things like this rape of the taxpayers that should motivate every conservative voter to be highly motivated to vote to remove spendthrifts Frankie Waters and Ed Booth from the county commission. To say they spend like drunken sailors is an insult to drunken sailors because at least the sailors are spending their own money.
