A Japanese court has ruled that the country's statutes prohibiting same-sex marriage are Constitutional, upholding the ban on same sex marriage.  Three homosexual couples had challenged the statute under the Freedom of Marriage provision of the Japanese Constitution, but the court ruled that only applied to marriages between opposite sexes.
