SCOTUS allows legislators to defend photo Voter ID in court | Eastern NC Now

only Democrats were party to the case

ENCNow

When several radical left organizations filed suit against North Carolina's photo voter ID law, they named the Democrat governor and the Democrat run State Board of Elections, represented by Democrat state AG Josh Stein as defendants.  Republicans in the legislature did not expect a fair defense with the governor and AG both on record against photo voter ID, so they moved to have the Republican legislature intervene as parties.  Lower courts denied that, but the US Supreme Court just ruled 8 to 1 that the Republican legislature had to be allowed to participate in the case as parties..

Photo Voter ID is international best practice for election integrity used nationally in all developed countries except the US, and in the majority of US states.  It is also used in many less developed countries.

The SCOTUS has approved the Constitutionality of photo voter ID in US elections, but that does not stop the Democrats and the far left from trying to challenge it in state after state.
