    After a string of attacks on pro-life pregnancy-support centers across the country, seven Republican members of North Carolina's congressional delegation signed a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate the attacks as domestic terrorism. U.S. Reps. Ted Budd, Patrick McHenry, Greg Murphy, Madison Cawthorn, Richard Hudson, Virginia Foxx, and David Rouzer all signed the letter.

    Rep. Richard Hudson, R-NC8, posted a message on Twitter drawing attention to the letter and saying "This violence must end."

    "We write to express serious concerns over recent attacks targeting religious organizations and crisis pregnancy centers and request the Department of Justice respond with how its National Security Division plans to investigate these acts of domestic terrorism," the letter starts.

    The letter goes on to cite the leak of the draft decision in the Dobbs case before the U.S. Supreme Court and the numerous attacks on pro-life organizations in the days since. They then note that under U.S. Code § 2331, domestic terrorism is defined as activities that:

    '(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United

    States or of any State;

    (B) appear to be intended-

    (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;

    (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or

    (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or

    kidnapping; and

    (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.'"

    The lawmakers state that the attacks on pro-life organizations and churches would qualify as domestic terrorism under these conditions. The letter concludes by giving Garland 30 days to answer two questions:

    "1. Is the Department currently investigating the attacks against the aforementioned groups as instances of domestic terrorism? If not, please provide the rationale behind this decision.

    2. What is the Department's plan to prevent similar attacks from occurring against other pro-life organizations and is the Department currently collaborating with state and local law enforcement to ensure further incidents do not occur?"

    On June 14, pro-abortion terrorist group "Jane's Revenge" claimed credit for numerous attacks on pro-life centers around the country, including the June 7 attack on Mountain Area Pregnancy Services (MAPS) in Asheville.

    The message was originally posted on Abolition Media, which supports left-wing revolutionary groups around the world, but a day later, Jane's Revenge also posted the message to the group's official website.

    "Consider this your call to action," Jane's Revenge said on their website. "On the night the final ruling is issued - a specific date we cannot yet predict, but we know is arriving imminently - we are asking for courageous hearts to come out after dark. Whoever you are and wherever you are, we are asking for you to do what you can to make your anger known."
