Russia shoots down own highly advanced jet | Eastern NC Now
SU-34M cost $40 million
Until yesterday, Russia only had ten of the advanced $40 million SU-34M fighter bombers. Now, apparently as a result of them shooting one of them down themselves, the Russians only have nine of them.
A pro-Russian Telegram channel posted video of Russian air defense forces shooting down "a target" near a village in Lunhansk last night. When the sun rose and the wreckage was photographed, it turned out to be an SU-34 with Russian markings and the serial number revealed it was the rare "M" variant with advanced avionics.
