Manchin-Schumer tax and spend bill screws Americans | Eastern NC Now

The tax and spend bill recently negotiated between Senator Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer has the Orwellian name of "Inflation Reduction Act" but it does just the opposite.  Its big spending will drive inflation and its tax increases will deepen the recession.

It screws Americans in multiple ways:

1) its massive spending will drive inflation higher

2) Its tax increases will deepen the recession.  Taxes on corporations are always passed on by the corporations to consumers, so this will actually be increasing taxes on consumers.

3) Its pushing expensive "green energy" will drive up electric rates.

4) Its hiring 80,000 new IRS agents to audit taxpayers will cause a lot of harassment and grief to taxpayers,
