Saxony premier says German green transition has failed | Eastern North Carolina Now | High electric rates and power shortages have resulted

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Michael Kretschmer, premier of the German state of Saxony has a word for Germany's Energie Wende (energy transition) to green energy - wind and solar - and that word is ''FAILURE''.  It is a word he used to describe green energy in an interview with a major German newspaper.

Kretschmer pointed out that Germany's energy problems started long before the Russian cutoffs due to the Ukraine war, with wind and solar failing to carry the load that the energy plan had expected them to do.  He pointed out that huge rate increases and energy shortages had hit the country long before the Ukraine war and they come from the transition to green energy.  Germany suffered energy shortages last Fall and Winter due to two lengthy wind droughts and had to import nuclear power from France and coal fired power from Poland to keep the lights on.  Kretschmer called for the continued use of nuclear and coal to make electricity, which the current national government wants to eliminate entirely and has already cut substantially.

Germans paid three times as much for electricity as North Carolinians before the Ukraine crisis began, and it is even worse now.  But unfortunately, North Carolina is headed in the same direction, thanks to the RINO leadership of the NC General Assembly ramming through NC's Green New Deal, HB951 last year which puts North Carolina committed to ditching coal in favor of expensive and unreliable wind and solar.  For the sad tale of how Phil Berger and Tim Moore pulled off this boondoggle, check out:

The state senator that Beaufort County will inherit in January, Sen. Jim Perry (RINO-Kinston) is up to his eyeballs in  this screw job on North Carolina electric consumers.  He is on the take from both "woke" Duke Energy and the wind and solar grifters and serving their interests rather than that of his constituents.

''Green energy'' is a consumer ripoff. The ''environmentalist'' groups pushing this scam are funded by both the Russians and the Chinese. They want to push Europe and the US into expensive and unreliable wind and solar electricity while they keep using conventional electric sources that are cheaper and more dependable, giving them an economic advantage. Republican Congressmen have traced how the Russian money comes to the "environmental" groups by way of a shell company in Bermuda to a major leftwing funding clearing house in the US, and from there directly to major "environmental" groups. Nobody will do anything about it, however. These "environmental" groups are stooges of Russia and China, doing their dirty work to damage our economy.
