Sounds of a nation dying

Our Beloved Banana Republic
By Dave Eden, Eden Political Cartoons

“I hear the gurgling sound of a nation dying. Its pulse of character is hardly beating. I plead with God to save America, if for no other reason than the one he promised Abraham that he would be willing to spare Sodom - just a few righteous people. O gracious Lord, don’t cut down the tree, let it stand for a while longer. Let us dig around its roots and fertilize it so it might bear fruit. After this, if your justice must be satisfied, then cut it down” (Matthew 13:7-9).

I remember an old Country Peacher making the following comment about our current situation. "If the Lord does not destroy America, he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah". Let's hope that is not the case. We do have a loving God who will let us turn this mess around, but we have to get to work on it.
