Federal judge reinstates NC's 20 week abortion limit | Eastern NC Now
abortions after 20 weeks now illegal in North Carolina
Federal District Court Judge William Osteen, a Bush appointee, has ruled that the North Carolina law banning abortion after 20 weeks except for dire medical emergencies has again become effective in our state, based on the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade.
NC's far left attorney general Josh Stein opposed the ruling.

For a full term pregnancy the gestation period can be anywhere between 37 weeks to 42 weeks. 20 weeks is 5 months pregnant. Over 1/2 way for full term pregnancy. The baby can hiccup, the taste buds have formed, they can suck their thumb, the reproductive system has developed, ultra sound can tell if the baby is a boy or girl, etc.
