    Beaufort Regional Health System Director of Marketing and Public Relations Pam Shadle reports that Dr. Thomas Andrews, from Jamestown, N.Y., is joining OB/GYN of Washington, the practice of Dr. Rachel McCarter, today. He will begin seeing patients on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

    Andrews received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1981 and completed his obstetrics, gynecology and anesthesiology residency training programs at the University of Rochester in 1987. Andrews is board certified in obstetrics/gynecology and anesthesiology and has a special interest in treating pelvic pain and endometriosis. He joins OB/GYN of Washington after having worked for 22 years at a private practice in Jamestown.

    He and his wife Linda have relocated to Chocowinity and are excited to be near family members and the water. They have been married for 29 years and have four children.

    Obstetrics and Gynecology of Washington specializes in women's health services for adolescents and adults using the latest techniques and procedures in their specialty. Obstetrical care is provided to women with and without medical complications. Mothers will deliver at Beaufort County Medical Center, which provides one-on-one nursing care in labor. All physicians are board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

    Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, by appointment. OB/GYN of Washington is located at 1210 Brown St. and is currently accepting new patients. The practice can be reached by calling 252-975-1188.
