Ted Cruz Urges DeSantis, Abbott To Send Illegal Immigrants To 3 New Liberal Spots | Eastern NC Now

    Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) urged Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) to send illegal immigrants to three new liberal areas after DeSantis' move to send illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard this week dominated national news.

    Cruz pressed the governors to send illegal immigrants to Nantucket, Massachusetts; Palo Alto, California; and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

    Cruz introduced the Stop the SURGE Act last year to force Democrat President Joe Biden to establish 13 new ports of entry in communities across the country and mandate that all illegal aliens encountered at Border Patrol Sectors in Texas be transferred to these new ports for processing.

    The 13 new ports of entry would be in liberal areas, including Block Island, Rhode Island; Greenwich, Connecticut; Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Governors Island, New York; Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Nantucket, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island; Scarsdale, New York; Palo Alto, California; Yountville, California; St. Helena, California; and North Hero, Vermont.

    "I am introducing this crucial legislation to alleviate the massive overload at the southern border by establishing new ports of entry in Democrat-led communities such as North Hero, Vermont, where Bernie Sanders spends his summers, and Martha's Vineyard, where Democrat elites host their cocktail parties," Cruz said at the time. "If Washington Democrats had to endure even a fraction of the suffering South Texas families, farmers, ranchers, and small businesses have had to face, our nation's immigration laws would be enforced, the wall would be built, and the Remain in Mexico policy would be re-implemented."

    "My Democrat colleagues have hosted hearing after hearing on amnesty and federalizing elections while completely ignoring the crisis at our southern border," Cruz added. "From my time this year on the ground in Laredo and Del Rio, it is abundantly clear that President Biden has all but abandoned our border patrol agents and processing facilities, and left Texas communities to fend for themselves. President Biden and Democrats need to step up to defend our southern border and support our heroic Customs and Border Protection officials."

    Cruz said this week during an interview on Fox News that DeSantis sending the 50 illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard exposed the political Left as being "screaming hypocrites."

    "You know, the Democrats did not think it was a humanitarian crisis when we pulled over 50 bodies in body bags out of a truck in Texas of illegal immigrants who died because the smugglers let them die of heat exposure," Cruz said. "And yet, suddenly 50 illegal immigrants show up in lily white Martha's Vineyard, where rich liberals and billionaires sip Chardonnay, and it is, it is World War II."

Inarguably, the policies of the Democrats in congress and Joe Biden as the Executive is plunging the United States into a recession, if we are not already there; a recession that was completely avoidable. Will abrupt changes in policies occur in time?
