German MEP calls EU Green Deal "an ideologically driven monster'' | Eastern NC Now

NC has enacted same monster, only worse on our citizens

German Member of the European Parliament Dr. Sylvia Limmer has denounced the European Union's Green Deal, enacted early last year as "an ideologically driven monster" that is causing serious issues as to energy stabliity and price across Europe.  After the Green Deal was enacted, it caused huge electric rate increases all over Europe.  At the time Poland's president told his citizens they were going to see a 25% electric rate increase, explaining "what we have is the flawed climate policies of the EU".

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has made the energy situation even worse than what the Green Deal was doing to it.   The EU Green Deal seeks to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.

North Carolina faces the very same monster, due to HB951, NC's Green New Deal, enacted late last year.  It is even more destructive than its EU cousin.  While the EU bill called for a 50% carbon reduction by 2030, the NC legislation calls for a much more radical 70% reduction by that year.  While Roy Cooper's cheerleading for this bill and signing was likely ideological, the two main godfathers who got this awful mill passed, Senate President Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore got it passed because they were prostituting for special interests, "woke" Duke Power and the wind and solar energy grifters.  The damage that will be inflicted on the people of North Carolina is the same regardless of why they did it.  The state senator just elected for this district, Jim Perry, also has his own fingerprints all over that monster..
