large write-in vote against Phil Berger; Dem judge he endorsed loses | Eastern NC Now

black conservative write-in candidate gets 15%, high for a write-in

ENCNow

NC State Senate president Phil Berger in recent years seems bent on doing an imitation of RINO Mitch McConnell, helping Democrats pass liberal legislation and even endorsing a liberal incumbent Democrat Superior Court judge in the last election.

Berger had no opponent printed on the ballot, but a black conservative write-in challenger received 15% of the vote, a very high figure for a write in candidate.  That is indicative that many homefolks don't care for Berger's RINO ways.

Berger blatantly broke the party's rules on supporting Democrats running against Republicans when he openly endorsed a liberal Democrat incumbent Superior Court Judge in his own district.  The voters of the judicial district dissed Berger by electing the conservative Republican challenger to the judgeship by a wide margin over Berger's Democrat.

Berger should be removed from his party offices for this blatant party disloyalty, but will anyone have the 'nads to do it?

Sure wish I had known there was a write in vote going on as I would have written a conservative in that is for sure.
