Drug Bust: Marijuana and Prescription pills | Eastern NC Now

   On January 22, 2013, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Phillip Barbour, 25 years of age, of 402 Cedar Lane in Washington and Jonathan Walker, 19 years of age, of 101 Iron Creek Drive in Washington.

   Barbour was charged with Possession of Schedule II (Oxycodone) Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule III (Suboxone) Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.

   Walker was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule IV (Alprazolam) Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.



    Their arrest stemmed from Investigators conducting surveillance and conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle that Barbour was operating. Walker was a passenger in the vehicle. Investigators detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and witnessed white powdery residue in Barbour’s nose.

   Investigators conducted a search and found three (3) Oxycodone pills, one Suboxone pill and a plastic bag containing marijuana in a cigarette pack belonging to Barbour.

    At Walker’s request, Investigators transported Walker to his residence to retrieve his identification. Investigators entered Walker’s residence and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. Investigators searched Walker’s residence and found a small quantity of marijuana, digital scales, marijuana grinder, marijuana smoking pipe and two (2) Alprazolam prescription pills.

   Barbour was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $1,500.00 secured bond. Walker was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $300.00 secured bond
