Serbia joins Hungary and Austria to block Balkan migrant route | Eastern NC Now

Hungarian and Austrian forces to help Serbia seal its border against migrants

ENCNow

Three European countries have worked out an agreement to block one of the major illegal alien migrant routes into Europe.  Meeting in Belgrade, the prime ministeres of Hungary, Austria, and Serbia announced an agreement for Hungary and Austria to provide personnel and equipment to help Serbia block migrants from entering their country.  Serbia is usually the route taken by migrants trying to enter Hungary and Austria.

Prime Minister Orban of Hungary said that the purpose was not just to manage migration but to totally stop it.  "There is only one case when migrants will not come to your country: When they know they will not succeed.  It must be made clear that you cannot enter our countries in an illegal manner," he declared.

"The EU's migration policy has failed" observed Austrian chancellor Karl Nehammer.

Hungary and Austria have had troops on the borders to stop migrants for several years, and in Austria's case, backed by armored vehicles.  However, it appears that it will be border police sent to help Serbia, along with drones, sensors and other equipment.
