NC Treasurer Dale Folwell calls for removal of woke Blackrock CEO Larry Fink | Eastern NC Now

major "woke" financial firm manages billions in public funds on political ESG agenda

ENCNow

Conservative NC State Treasurer Dale Folwell fired a salvo today at controversial CEO Larry Fink of major financial investment firm Blackrock.  Folwell took back control of the proxies associated with the $14 Billion that the state of North Carolina has invested with Blackrock and called for the resignation or removal of Fink as its CEO.

Fink is controversial for pushing ESG "investing" which prioritizes achieving a far left political agenda over obtaining the best financial results for clients.  ESG stands for Environment, Social Justice, Governance.  Fink has used the proxies associated with stocks held as investments for various pension funds to elect "woke" candidates to corporate boards, such as recently electing several anti-oil directors at Exxon.

"Larry Fink's pursuit of a political agenda has gotten in the way of Blackrock's fiduciary duty," Folwell said. "Blackrock needs to be totally focused on returns for its clients, not on the political effort to 'transform' the economy to your vision of carbon zero."

While several states have already either divested state funds from Blackrock or removed their proxies, Folwell is the first state official to also call for Fink's removal, which Breitbart referred to as a "bombshell".

Dale Folwell is a breath of fresh air. He is taking on this ESG monster and one of its worst practictioners, Larry Fink (who has a very apt last name). I look forward to Folwell running for and being elected our governor in 2024.
