Democrat / RINO alliance takes control of Craven School Board | Eastern NC Now

Two RINOs team with two Democrats, neutering 5-2 GOP majority

ENCNow

Democrats in Craven County have gotten a stranglehold on their county School Board in spite of a 5 to 2 majority of members who were elected as Republicans.  The two Democrats formed an alliance with two RINO type Republicans and elected both the chairman and vice chairman.  Jennifer Dacey, the candidate supported by Republican stalwarts was defeated 4 to 3 for chairman, and the center-left coalition also grabbed the vice chairman slot on a similar vote.  The Democrats gave both slots to the RINOs, but they are now owed a huge political debt for it.

This is how Republicans snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory when the Democrats seduce weak-minded opportunists who will surrender anything to get a title for themselves.  The same thing has happened repeatedly on the Beaufort County Commission, but fortunately, this sort of utter treachery is rare in NC Republican politics.  Indeed, it can be punished as party disloyalty under state GOP rules.

In Beaufort County, leftwing Democrat Jerry Langley really runs the county commission, and Frankie Waters is little more than a figurehead and a puppet on a string.  When Langley is not pulling Waters' puppet strings, it is the liberal big-government county manager who is doing so.

Many Craven County Republicans are furious at this double cross, and they should be.

It sounds like Craven County Democrats have learned the evil tricks of Beaufort County Democrats. Republicans need to learn to stop electing scoundrels who will prostitute themselves for a title like Frankie Waters does.
