at least 60 MEP's, mostly leftists investigated
A major corruption scandal is rocking the European Union's parliament with at least 60 Members of the European Parliament, mostly from the left / socialists under investigation. The allegations involve the government of Qatar bribing officials for support of legislation they wanted.
The Vice President of Parliament, Eva Kaili, a Socialist from Greece, has been forced to resign after a million and a half euros in cash were found at her residence and that of an Italian Socialist MEP. Most of the suspects are members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats block.
