Tillis is key figure in killing border security amendment to save Omnibus | Eastern NC Now

A group of ten senators, nine Democrats plus Thom Tillis, who might as well be a Democrat stopped an amendment to help secure the border by preserving the "remain in Mexico" Title 42, and in doing that saved the Democrats bacon to let the omnibus, which is itself full of evil, pass.  Mike Lee's amendment to save Title 42 had the votes to pass in the Senate and be added to the omnibus.  That would have probably killed it in the House because The Squad and their followers would not have voted for the omnibus with that in it.

Thom Tillis did two related things to screw the Republican base on this:  1) he stopped a key measure to help secure the border, and 2) he let the Democrats neuter our House Republican majority for its first year.

Last year, the Wyoming Republican Party voted that they no longer recognized Liz Cheney as a Republican.  Censuring Tillis is fine, but it is better to take a stronger action as Wyoming did to Cheney.  There is not a dimes worth of difference between Thom Tillis and Liz Cheney.

Meanwhile a new Twitter poll shows that 71% are opposed to the omnibus spending bill and the Wall Street Journal  calls it the worst omnibus spending bill ever.
