Mr. Vann Taylor Langley, age 66, a resident of 146 Edgewood Drive, Chocowinity, died Thursday February 7, 2013 at his home.

    Mr. Vann Taylor Langley, age 66, a resident of 146 Edgewood Drive, Chocowinity, died Thursday February 7, 2013 at his home.

    A funeral service with Masonic rites will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor George Jones and Pastor Dan Earnhardt. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    Mr. Langley was born in Beaufort County on March 2, 1946, son of the late David Hamilton Langley and Easter Bell Taylor Langley. He was a 1964 graduate of Chocowinity High School. Mr. Langley married the former Diane Ingalls who survives. He was a retired millwright with Weyerhaeuser of New Bern, member of the Chocowinity United Methodist Church, member of Washington Masonic Lodge 675 A.F. & A.M. and Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #48.

    Mr. Langley is survived by his wife: Diane of the home; a daughter, Penny L. Purvis and her husband Todd of Washington; a son, Casey Taylor Langley and his wife, Sherry of Chocowinity; a brother, Frank Langley of Chocowinity; a sister, Elsie Jones of Washington; and four grandchildren: Taylor Langley, Logan Langley, Anna Purvis and Carla Purvis.

    The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Friday, February 8, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family kindly asks for any memorial contributions may be made to the Vann T. Langley Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, N.C. 27889.
