support strong for GOP demanded spending cuts

ENCNow

According to results of a new poll,  a solid majority of 56% of Americans would rather see a government partial shutdown if Congress cannot cut spending in return for a debt ceiling extention.  Only 34% would support passing a "clean" debt ceiling bill with no spending cuts in order to avoid the shutdown.
