Meteorologist Janice Dean: Book Reviewers Won’t Touch My New Book Because I Work For Fox News | Eastern North Carolina Now

Meteorologist Janice Dean said Sunday that multiple outlets had refused to review her new book, "I Am the Storm," because she worked for Fox News.

Dean noted that among the outlets that had refused her latest book was Publishers Weekly - which had reviewed her previous books.

"Was just told that all the major publications that review books declined to review #IAmtheStorm because of where I work. This included @PublishersWkly which has reviewed all of my other books," she tweeted.

Dean said that she had also been informed that while major book retailer Barnes & Noble had ordered hard copies of her book for some of their locations, they had not put them out on display. The reasoning that was given, she said, was simply "distribution issues."

But as Dean noted, things only got worse from there. "And @amazon put my price point on #IAmtheStorm at the highest $$ with no discount for a week which apparently unheard of. So yeah, I was screwed from the very beginning," she said, adding one caveat: "(P.S. I have all of this in writing.)"

Dean confirmed to The Daily Wire that her publicist had pitched all of the major trades and none had reviewed the book.

She also shared the news via Instagram, saying that it was especially disheartening given that the book was about people facing great odds and overcoming incredible challenges.

"The theme of the book is striving to overcome the odds, which is fitting considering how difficult it's been competing with people who don't want these stories out there," she said.

Charlie Gasparino responded to her post in a comment, saying that he had been treated in similar fashion when his own book was published.

"I can attest to this treatment; when I came to fox and wrote a mainstream book about financial fraud I was told some major newspapers passed on reviewing it because I was a 'Fox guy,'" he said.

The majority of the responses were encouraging, however, and Dean shared another post thanking everyone for standing by her.

"You all have made me feel so much better. Many of your comments have brought tears to my eyes. I wrote #IAmtheStorm to inspire and give hope. All the stories are about real life heroes that deserve their own books someday. If you can borrow it from a library or pass it along once you've read it to someone else to spread the sunshine that would make me so happy. Thank you all so much. I'm grateful and humbled," she said.

We Democratic Socialists are doing just fine, thank-you, by promoting lies while having very little real knowledge about so much.

I truly get why these truth tellers, who work for FOX News, would be punished by propagandistic news outlets. Liars and fools tend to bind together, while individuals of integrity tend to do the same.
