Weather Advisory: Nor'easter | Eastern NC Now

Good Afternoon:

    Here is the latest briefing from the NWS concerning the incoming storm. It appears the storm will be tracking further North than originally expected. There is the possibility of some snow flurries Wednesday night. Precipitation totals look to be less than one inch which is real good news as our ground is still wet.

    Special note for First Responders: Wind gust from the storm are not expected to exceed 30mph, however, our ground still contains a great deal of moisture so extra care is appropriate if driving after dark. The main threats could be tree root beds being loose after all the rain and trees failing across roadways. The second threat could be hydroplaning of vehicles if there is ponding of water where ditches are full of debris and the water has nowhere to drain.

    Everyone needs to stay weather aware. If you are heading up into Virginia the next day or two please use caution as they are going to see a much bigger impact from snowfall as a result of this storm.
