Big jump in gas prices today, many still at lower price level | Eastern NC Now

14 cent jump at Speedway, which always starts the price increase

ENCNow

Another big jump in gas prices is underway but there are still options to fill up at the lower prices before everyone jumps up the price of gas.

Speedway, the station that always leads price increases in gas and is the last to reduce them, raised their gas price by 24 cents this morning to $3.69 a gallon.  So far, it does not look like anyone else has followed but on almost all occaisions they all will later today or tommorrow.

As of a few minutes ago, Murphy Express was still at $3.42 per gallon and Duck Thru at $3.43 (but if you have their discount card, it is really $3.38).  Most others were at $3.49.

Curious. This afternoon, over 24 hours after the big gas price hike at Speedway, Duck Through has matched it, but Murphy Express is still at $3.42 / gallon, and the convenience store across from the new police station still is at $3.49. There was one prior instance where Murphy simply refused to budge when Speedway jacked up the price, and eventually Speedway

Good information. At least it will save some money on one tank of gas before the rest of them follow. I tend not to stop at Speedways because they are always big on raising gas prices.
