With a stroke of his pen, President Joe Biden on Monday ended COVID.

Well, sort of. Biden signed a bill (H.J. Res. 7) that terminates the national emergency declared by President Donald Trump on March 13, 2020.

Biden didn't want to. He publicly opposed the bipartisan congressional resolution but apparently had a change of heart (or perhaps he just realized that Congress could override any veto).

Democrats wanted to keep it all going. Nearly 200 House Democrats voted against the joint resolution in February. And in the Senate, 23 Democrats voted against it. But even though the "national emergency" is over, the "public health emergency" won't expire until May 11.

In several ways, Biden really had no choice. Congress has sought to accelerate the end of the national emergency, so the Biden administration moved to expedite the end of the national emergency.

"When COVID-19 hit, Congress acted with urgency under a number of emergency declarations to provide the flexibilities and funding needed to save lives, roll out a vaccine, and keep our economy afloat," Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) said after the Senate first voted to end the COVID national emergency declaration in November.

"We've come a long way since then, and while it might be easier to kick the can down the road, I think it's time to have a bipartisan conversation about how we unwind from these emergency actions and move forward with the valuable lessons we've learned," he said.

When Trump left office, at least 420,441 Americans had contracted COVID and died, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Since Biden took office on January 20, 2021, 726,224 Americans have died.

Biden has declared the COVID pandemic over before, only to face pushback from his advisers.

"Is the pandemic over?" CBS' Scott Pelley asked Biden in a "60 Minutes" interview in September 2022.

"The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with COVID. We're still doing a lot of work on it," Biden said.

Biden, walking through the Huntington Place convention center with Pelley, pointed out: "If you notice, no one's wearing masks."

That's because we've all been over COVID for months and months. Masks are nearly completely gone at grocery stores and sporting events, and the mindless worry spurred by the breathless media has disappeared, too.

Still, after Biden's declaration the top U.S. immunologist immediately pushed back.

"We have only 67 percent of our population vaccinated and only one-half of those have received a single boost," Dr. Anthony Fauci said.

"But we are not where we need to be if we're going to be able to, quote, 'live with the virus,' because we know we're not going to eradicate it. We only did that with one virus, which is smallpox, and that was very different because smallpox doesn't change from year to year, or decade to decade, or even from century to century," Fauci said.

Biden's move came on the same day that Switzerland stopped recommending all COVID vaccinations. The new rules say Swiss doctors can only administer the controversial vaccines in individual cases under certain conditions, but even then they risk liability should there be damage caused by the vaccination.

Considering the irrefutable fact that the Left /the Democratic Socialists, beginning in March of 2020, employed the repetitive use of the Covid Pandemic as a political cudgel to wrest a presidential election, where their candidate rarely left his basement, from a frightened and beaten down citizenry of this Representative Republic: What does your knowledge NOW, in hindsight, aid in your understanding of the motives of the Authoritarian Left?
The "Left" cares about all Democratics, so it was imperative that we do whatever it took to elect a lifelong politician to become that Democratic Socialist to forever change US.
Pandemics are serious business, where our leaders must use wisdom and practicable efforts of all that serve to protect the public from not only the pandemic, but these ignoble usurpers of the Left.
I lost almost everything in the Covid Pandemic, and I want justice; a justice where only the truth prevails, and the rampant fraud that is now legend is remedied.
