Biden officiial refuses to say if offshore wind turbines could survive hurricanes | Eastern NC Now

The Biden regime wants to put a whole lot of our electrical generation capacity into expensive offshore wind turbines, but a key Biden official refuses to say if they could even survive a category 2 or 3 hurricane..  Loss of large swaths of wind turbines in a hurricane moving up the coast could leave the eastern US starved of electric power for many months if we rely on them for a significant portion of our electricity.

Liz Klein, Director of the Federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, was asked at a Congressional budget hearing if the offshore wind turbines they are promoting could survive such hurricanes by Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey.  There is widespread opposition of Jersey shore communities to placing offshore wind turbines where they would blight the coast.  Klein refused to answer.

In North Carolina, liberal governor Roy Cooper is a major cheerleader for offshore wind turbines, and he is supported in that by liberal Republicans like Phil Berger, Jim Perry, and Tim Moore.  These politicians are putting our energy security at risk with their reckless proposals.

Offshore wind turbine development off New Jersey is already killing whales and threatens the extinction of the critically endangered Atlantic Right Whale.  These wind tubines also kill large numbers of sea birds and are a threat to both the commercial fishing and the tourism industries.
