We Can All Relax, Kamala Is On Artificial Intelligence Safety Duty Now | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Everybody, relax. Vice President Kamala Harris has now been placed on artificial intelligence safety duty by the Biden White House.

    On Thursday, Harris met with C-suite executives from Microsoft, Google, and a couple of other artificial intelligence industry leaders. One can only imagine the insight Harris had to offer.

    Regardless, the Biden administration has now pledged to open seven new artificial intelligence research institutes with $140 million worth of funding to help ensure that AI doesn't get out of hand.

    Adam Conner of the Center for American Progress told the Associated Press, "We're at a moment that in the next couple of months will really determine whether or not we lead on this or cede leadership to other parts of the world, as we have in other tech regulatory spaces like privacy or regulating large online platforms."

    Others, such as tech guru Elon Musk, have said that AI could be more dangerous and life-threatening without proper oversight.

    So who better to take the helm and right our course than the veep? When she isn't amazed by the wonder of yellow school buses or dazzled by the mystery of Venn diagrams, she's showing off the latest vinyl that she picked up from the local record shop.

    She's the salt of the earth, this lady, and a deep thinker, too.

    Kamala, of course, was put in charge of the border by Biden. What happened? Millions flooded into the country in record numbers.

    Then, she was sent to Europe to meet with leaders to try and stop the Ukranian-Russian war from escalating. We are now closer to nuclear doomsday than ever before.

    Now, she's tasked with AI and preventing a real-world "I, Robot" scenario. Based on her track record, we are screwed and our Terminator overlords will be here before we know it.

    There is at least one thing that Harris could use AI for: A new speechwriter when she inevitably fires her current one. The word salad-prone vice president has gone through quite a few in her short time as Biden's right-hand woman. You can hardly tell the difference between AI and the real thing these days.
