A new poll conducted by the Trafalgar Group, whose polls in political camapigns have proven some of the most accurate, has found that a solid 59% of Americans are opposed to raising the debt ceiling. 22% are opposed to raising the debt ceiling at all, while 37.2% are opposed to raising the debt ceiling without significant spending cuts.

Republicans in Congress need to hang tough on this one and not pull a Mitch McConnell.

RINOs spend and spend way too much. Mitch McConnell is an example of that, and he often colludes with Democrats to spend too much money. John Boehner was a similar example. However, CONSERVATIVE Republicans oppose spending, like our longtime former Congressman from this district, Walter Jones, Jr. who routinely voted against all debt ceiling increases and against all budgets with too much deficit spending, which was about all of them. Walter refused to go along with Boehner's rotten spending deals with the Democrats and Boehner took away Walter's best committee assignments in punishment. Repubican voters in primaries need more like Walter Jones and fewer like McConnell and Boehner. Also fewer like Phil Berger and Tim Moore who gave us the big spending Obamacare Medicaid expansion.

Biden is a hypocrite on this issue. As a Senator, he supported forcing the president to negotiate for debt ceiling increases. Why does he think he is entitled to a different path now that he is (at least the figurehead) president?
