Europol statistics for 2022 on terrorism show that by far the largest group actually carrying out terrorist attacks was the far left, while the largest group arrested for plotting terrorist attacks were the Islamic jihadists The far right were bit players.
Among actual terrorist attacks carried out in Europe in 2022, the far left was responsible for 13 of them, jihadists for 2, and the far right for just one. But in terms of plotting terrorist attacks, Islamic jihandists were far in the lead with 266, compared to 78 for domestic left and right wing plots combined.
