Sweden scraps "unstable" green energy policy; will rely on nuclear power | Eastern NC Now

Says wind and solar not reliable; this is a wake up call for North Carolina

ENCNow

Sweden's conservative government has reversed the energy policies of its Social Democrat predecessors and scrapped its green energy targets, saying that wind and solar power are "unstable".  Instead it is focusing on nuclear power to provide energy for Sweden.  The new conservative coalition in neighboring Finland has announced a similar policy to concentrate on nuclear power instead of wind and solar.

Meanwhile, North Carolina's RINO legislative leadership, Phil Berger and Tim Moore pushed through a wind / solar boondoggle for North Carolina in their Green New Deal, HB951, selling out to Governor Roy Cooper and the left on energy policy.  That has already given NC ratepayers their first of what will be many rate hikes from this flawed policy, the first being 18%.  It has also contributed to the Christmas blackouts with the premature closure of the Brunswick coal plant under the Green New Deal policy.  There will be more pain for consumers to come.

What a typical prog lemming. You want to keep your blinders on, stick with your tunnel vision, and stay rigidly aligned with "the narrative". Oh, and with that opening outburst, you may want to check with a mental health professional, Bobbie.

You are dumb as a box of rocks, Bogus Bob. If you would watch that British TV docementary, and listened to the scientists interviewed there, you would perhaps gain insight that this whole climate crusade is a political boondoggle. Earth's climate has always changed and human CO2, or indeed any CO2, has absolutely nothing to do with it. All you do is rehash the globalist narrative, which is a pile of BS.

....all because of climate change. As to cost, must factor in fossil fuel emissions. No way around it.

Those targets are EU imposed, and as long as Sweden is in the EU, they are subject to them. The previous Swedish government was all-in on this stuff. What they are really addressing is EU mandates, specifically the EU Green Deal, which Poland's prime minister denounced as "the expensive climate policy of the EU". If you are compelled by the EU to deal with it, nuclear is a much better way, as Poland itself is also doing. But Poland is using coal as long as it can. Poland's coal fired electricity was some of the cheapest in Europe, until the EU Green Deal came along. Now France's nuclear power is some of the cheapest. Wind and solar powered Germany? That is the most expensive electricity in not only Europe, but the world and has been since Merkel got seriously into the Energie Wende.

I think Sweden is well aware of climate change and are using nuclear power as a way of meeting their needs while addressing climate change. A quick google search will show any reader that yes you are correct in saying solar and wind are not as reliable as Sweden would like. Nuclear power will provide the reliability while allowing the country to reduce its emissions and hit its target CO2 goals of net zero by 2045. You left that part out. Most far right publications do. Sorry to school you.
Big Bob supports the use of nuclear power.
