Tom Cruise went viral after he posted incredible behind-the-scenes shots from his upcoming film "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" that showed how a high-speed train sequence came together.

The 61-year-old actor tweeted a video on Tuesday about a train action sequence filmed in Norway with the director of the film, Christopher McQuarrie. At the time of this publication, the post has been viewed more than 6.8 million times.

"This train sequence was tricky, but the outcome made it all worth it," Cruise tweeted. "I can't wait for everyone to see it come to life!"

In the clip, we hear McQuarrie talking about how the movie's "sense of adventure" would include an action train sequence, something they had "always wanted to do."

"We wanted to build upon the previous films," the director says. "And apply all of that knowledge to something practical and real."

The footage shows outside shots of Cruise's character Ethan Hunt on top of a train and a warehouse where the shell of a train with different train cars was being built to help them create movie magic.

"We had to build a train if we wanted to destroy it," McQuarrie says, noting that the cars had to be able to run on a working "railroad track."

Another voice comes on and explains that there's a fight that takes place on top of a moving train going 60 mph through a real valley surrounded by mountains.

There's also a shot of a bridge being blown up, as well as information about how the team had to crash the train in order for movie-goers to be "invested" in everything these characters go through.

He tells Cruise in one shot, "You'll be chasing the train as it goes off" the cliff, explaining that it involved "every single camera" having one shot to get it right.

"Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" hits theaters July 12. The sequel is still in production and scheduled to hit theaters June 28, 2024.
