German Christian Dems call for work requirement for migrants as welfare soars | Eastern NC Now

Merkel's old party keeps moving rightward on immigration

ENCNow

As illegal alien "asylum seeker" migrants welfare bill hit a staggering 15.4 Billion euros a year to the German taxpayers, doubling since 2010, the traditional conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), formerly led by Angela Merkel, but now led by the more conservative Friedrich Merz, has called for imposing work requirements of migrants receiving welfare.  This follows by a week the CDU calling for migrants to no longer be able to claim asylum on arriving at the German border.

This comes as the populist / nationalist anti-immigration Alternativ fur Deutschland (AfD) continues to surge in the polls and in local elections.  There have also been calls by party officials for the CDU to be open to working with the AfD to form coalitions, which would be a reversal of Merkel's policy.

Bob, you have been accused of injecting race into everything, and I can see there is some truth to that. An illegal alien is an illegal alien no matter what race they are. A legal immigrant is a legal immigrant no matter what race they are.

Semantics aside, Big Bob is in favor of more boarder control minus a side helping of the racist vitriol.

Under US Immigration law, immigrants and illegal aliens are two different categories. The slang term "undocumented immigrant" you use is not a correct legal term. Under the definitions in the United States Code, to be any type of "immigrant" one has to be going through the lawful immigration process. Those who just jump the border obviously are not doing so. The correct legal term for them as set out in our immigration law is ILLEGAL ALIEN.

The discussion here is about the illegal aliens, NOT about immigrants. We should stick to the correct legal terms here, not leftwing slang.

You raise one point that I have not seen mentioned. The Biden regime is trying to grant mass "parole" to fake asylum seekers. This could expand the welfare rolls even more to illegal aliens. This may make the welfare problem of illegal aliens in the United States even worse.

Under no circumstances should taxpayers money be spent on these scofflaws who wantonly violate our immigration laws and / or fraudulently try to claim asylum that they are not entitled to.

The truth:
The 1996 welfare law created two categories of immigrants for benefits eligibility purposes: “qualified” and “not qualified.” The “qualified” immigrant category includes:

lawful permanent residents, or LPRs (people with green cards)
refugees, people granted asylum or withholding of deportation/removal, and conditional entrants
people granted parole by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for a period of at least one year
Cuban and Haitian entrants
certain abused immigrants, their children, and/or their parents [4]
certain survivors of trafficking [5]
individuals residing in the U.S. pursuant to a Compact of Free Association (COFA) (for Medicaid purposes only)
All other immigrants, including undocumented immigrants, as well as many people who are lawfully present in the U.S., are considered “not qualified.

Illegal aliens are very prone to go on welfare, and that is a huge problem in any country they are moving into. In the US, there are more migrant families on welfare than native families, black or white. It is the anchor babies that are the hook that gets them into welfare.

Some European countries have already used the tactic of cutting welfare to migrants to discourage migrants from coming. Iceland recently cut them off from welfare for this purpose. At the height of the Muslim migrant invasion of Europe, Denmark not only cut their welfare, but ran ads in Turkey, which was a major staging area for Muslim migrants trying to enter Europe, telling migrants that welfare had been cut and that they were not wanted.

The US needs to totally remove welfare from illegal aliens, but too often we are giving them free hotel rooms. In New York City almost half of all hotel rooms, including in luxury hotels are now filled with illegal alien migrants at taxpayer expense. They is a rape of the taxpayers and needs to be ended.
