Severe Weather Possible this August 6, 2023 | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

    Good Afternoon Everyone,

    Our office is currently monitoring an increasing risk of severe weather for our area this evening and tonight. While the greatest weather hazards remain to our west, the threat area has been expanded to include more eastern locations over the last few forecast cycles. Please see the email below and attached briefing from the National Weather Service for details.

    We encourage everyone to monitor local media outlets for additional updates as well as any watches / warnings that may be issued.

    As always, we thank you all for what you do to keep Beaufort County formed, prepared and safe.

    We wanted to provide you an update to the timing of potential severe thunderstorms tonight. The line of storms has already moved into the western part of the state and will move through Eastern North Carolina between 7 PM and Midnight tonight.
