Pressed On Hunter, Dem Promises A Report — On Trump | Eastern North Carolina Now

    A top House Democrat shared plans on Sunday to release a report detailing former President Donald Trump's foreign business dealings.

    Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, made the announcement while being questioned about the foreign business dealings of Hunter Biden, who is under a federal criminal investigation that just got elevated to special counsel status.

    "We're going to release a report about all of the foreign government emoluments," Raskin said during an appearance on ABC's "This Week." "Millions of dollars we can document that Donald Trump pocketed from the hotels, at the golf courses, through business deals when he was president, and that his family got."

    Raskin's comments elicited a stern rebuke from Stephen Miller, who served as a leading adviser in Trump's White House and founded America First Legal, a conservative group that has challenged Biden administration initiatives in court.

    "Of all of the risible, execrable lies surely the most ludicrous is that President Trump *profited* from the presidency. The presidency cost him billions and now they want it to cost him his freedom," Miller said in a post to X.

    "Biden made a fortune being in office. Trump gave up a fortune being in office," he added. "Biden profited from the White House. The American People profited from Trump in the White House. Biden sacrificed the country for himself. Trump sacrificed himself for the country."

    Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project and former chief counsel for nominations to then-Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), encouraged people to "welcome" the discussion.

    "1. The Trump family made its fortune building an international real-estate empire - long before Trump went to the Trump White House," he said in a post to X. "2. The Biden family made its fortune building an international-corruption empire - when Biden went to the Obama White House."

    New York Post columnist Miranda Devine, who often covers stories related to allegations of corruption surrounding the Biden family, reacted to a clip of Raskin's comments by saying, "Showing real desperation now."

    The interview took place as the 2024 campaign season heats up and may lead to a 2020 rematch between President Joe Biden, the father of Hunter Biden, and Trump in the general election.

    Under repeated questioning, Raskin did concede that he is "concerned" about Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings, but insisted that investigators have not shown any criminal corruption on the part of his the president.

    "What they've got is Hunter Biden," Raskin said. "And we've all seen clear that this guy was addicted to drugs and did a lot of really unlawful and wrong things. And we have said, let the justice system run its course."

    Raskin also claimed he has been "begging" Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) for the committee to "do a serious analysis of what the laws should be about money-making by people."


    In particular, he mentioned Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and a reported $2 billion investment from the Saudis after leaving the White House - a move which Comer himself recently said on CNN "crossed the line of ethics" even as the focus of his investigative efforts have been fixed on the flow of millions of dollars flowing to members of the Biden family from foreign nationals.

In light of continued developments, primarily since 2008, there exists in these United States a Legal System which operates on a proved Two Tiered approach to justice rendered, which primarily benefits Democratic Elites and Woke Ideological Virtue Signalers, representing their co-dependent wards, to the expressed exclusion of normal hardworking American citizens: What is your suggestion in remedying this widespread injustice and, if not corrected, its existential outcome for our Constitutional Republic?

  Complete overhaul of the Department of Justice and their enforcers - the FBI - to reflect a far more honest justice system to keep patriots remaining calm.

  Disband the FBI, and request that congress investigate all unethical and non patriotic practices to partially right the wrongs of a distrusted and politically weaponized "Department of Justice."

  Continue with the current system since the two tiered justice system has been so remarkably beneficial to Democratic Socialist political hegemony; chronic distrust in institutions notwithstanding.

Considering that the 2024 Presidential Election has fully begun, and the Biden Administration has consequently fully weaponized the Biden DOJ /FBI to attack all political opponents under the penalty of felonious judgement for many of the same alleged crimes, or worse, committed by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden himself: Are you comfortable with this level of overt corruption within the Executive Branch?

  Yes; if Democratic Socialists are to complete the remaking of this "Democracy," the End will Always Justify the Means.

  No; in a Constitutional Republic, the Rule of Law is paramount, which means the law MUST be administered evenly
