Drug Bust: Marijuana | Eastern NC Now

    On May 10, 2013, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Edward Heath Willard, age 38, of 7508 Slatestone Rd. in Washington. On May 20, 2013, Investigators also arrested Dangela Asby Willard, age 35, also of 7508 Slatestone Rd. in Washington. Their arrests stemmed from Investigators conducting surveillance on a residence in Washington suspected of housing large quantities of marijuana.

    Investigators witnessed Dangela Willard arrive and depart from the residence. Investigators conducted a traffic stop on her vehicle and K-9 Elza was deployed. K-9 Elza alerted on the vehicle for the presence of a narcotic. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 91 grams of marijuana that was individually packaged for resale. Investigators then travelled back to the residence under surveillance and conducted a search. The search resulted in the seizure of 550 grams of marijuana, digital scales and packaging material. Investigators also travelled to 7508 Slatestone Rd. and made contact with Edward Heath Willard. A search of his residence resulted in the seizure of more marijuana, glass smoking pipes, 4 firearms and $7,950 in US Currency.



    Edward Heath Willard was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Edward Heath Willard was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond. Dangela Willard was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana and Conspiracy to Sell and Deliver Marijuana. Dangela Willard was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
