A New York jury convicted Marvel actor Jonathan Majors on Monday of two misdemeanor accounts stemming from an assault on his ex-girlfriend earlier this year.

The six-person jury found Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment. The jury acquitted him of two counts, including intentional assault in the third degree and aggravated harassment in second degree.

Sentencing in the case is set for February 6.

The charges stemmed from an alleged altercation that he had with his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in a car. She was left with a broken finger and a bloodied ear from the attack.

Jabbari testified that the incident happened when Majors received a flirtatious text message on his phone from another woman and she grabbed the phone out of his hand to look at the message.

As Majors tried to take the phone back, he allegedly twisted her arm and finger.

"He was trying to hurt me," she said. "Then I felt a hard blow across my head."

The conviction of Majors, who played the character of Kang in multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe films and television shows, will likely lead to Marvel recasting the actor or eliminating the character entirely, as has been speculated since the allegations first surfaced.

"The trial has illuminated a fair amount of stuff regardless of the verdict," one studio executive told CNN. "What came out is problematic for him, particularly for a brand like Marvel or Disney - at least in the near term."
