Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) joins calls for change in GOP Senate leadership | Eastern NC Now
blasts McConnell on Lankford border sellout
The other US Senator from Kentucky, libertarian-conservative Senator Rand Paul has joined the calls for a change in Senate GOP leadership over Mitch McConnell (RINO-KY)'s attempt to sell out on illegal immigration issues to Biden and the Democrats. Senator Paul accused his Kentucky colleague McConnell of "criminal neglect" over the border crisis.
Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), both traditional conservatives, have already called for replacement of McConnell. None of the MAGA-oriented senators have weighted in yet.
Meanwhile, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has declared that Republicans should ally with the American people, not the Washington beltway Democrats.
