Dutch king swears in new anti-immigration conservative coalition government | Eastern NC Now

pledges strictest crackdown on immigration ever

ENCNow

King Willem-Alexander I of the Netherlands has sworn in the new conservative coalition Dutch government formed after the victory of right of center parties in the last parliamentary election.  Geert Wilders, leader of the largest party, the populist nationalist anti-immigration Party for Freedom, has declined the traditional role of someone in his position taking the prime minister's job and instead chosen a non-politician for that role. Among the cabinet assignments, a member of Wilders' party will hold the position of Minister of Immigration.

The new government has pledged "the strictest eve immigration controls" and "limiting the scale of and getting a grip on all types of immigration to the Netherlands".  It specifically promises to end family unification immigration,  clamp down on "asylum" claims, limiting the number of foreign students, and reducing welfare benefits to migrants.

The previous government's attack on farmers and that government's "climate communism" is being reversed.  In the position of Miinister of Agriculture is a member of the Farmers and Citizens Alliance which vehemently opposes the EU Green Deal.

The immigration issue is one of the most important issues in elections all over the western world. It is likely to lead to a major change in government in France this Sunday as well, and it will put our "deporter in chief" Donald Trump in office here in the US this November.
