Analyst for major Dutch bank says Kamanomics would crash US economy | Eastern NC Now

would cause major selloff in US assets and wealthy fleeing abroad

ENCNow

A top analyst for a leading international bank based in the Netherlands, Rabobank, has issued a warning that Kamala Harris' stated intention to tax unrealized capital gains would crash the US economy by causing a massive selloff in US assets and many wealthy Americans fleeing abroad.

Presently in all countries, the increase in the value of something, whether stock, real estate, or other items is taxed when it is sold.  Harris wants to tax it yearly while it is still in the owners possession.  For example, if you owned a house that increased n value by $30,000 in a year, you would be taxed on that increase that year even if you did not sell the house.

Another bad aspect of this plan is that with high inflation, much of the "increase" in value of an item actually represents a lowering of the value of the dollar, not an increase in the value of the item.  It is manifestly unfair to tax people on inflation.

Meanwhile the Financial Times of London described Harris' econpmic agenda as "underwhelming" in an editorial, pointed out the dangers of price controls and high taxes.
