Democrat Supreme Court candidate Riggs hit with ethics complaint

A formal complaint has been filed with the North Carolina Judicial Standards Commission against far left Democrat Supreme Court candidate Allison Riggs for a blatant violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct. That Code sets out ethics standards for judges and judicial candidates. The complaint is based on Riggs promising in campaign ads to take a set position on contested cases that come before her. The Code of Judicial Conduct specifically prohibits judicial candidates from doing that.

The complaint was filed by Buck Newton, a Johnston County lawyer and former state senator. It is based on a TV ad run by Riggs campaign where Riggs screeches that she will never vote to limit "reproductive rights".

Before getting a political appointment as a judge from liberal Democrat governor Roy Cooper, Riggs served as co-executive director of the radical left Southern Coalition for Social Justice in Durham. Prior to that appointment, her only experience since graduating from law school was with that far left organization.

If Riggs is incapable of reading and understanding the Code of Judical Conduct, why the heck is she sitting as any type of judge, much less running for Supreme Court? If she does understand it and is arrogantly disobeying it, why is she allowed to continue as a candidate? Citizens need to see severe crackdowns on judges who wantonly disobey the law.
