Wall Street Journal: DEI is crushing military recruitment

Throughout the Biden-Harris era, there has been a shortfall in military recruitment. Since a large percentage of recruits come from military families where parents and/or grandparents have served, the Wall Street Journal conducted a poll of veterans to try to identify the problem. The Department of Defense never apparently thought to do that. What they found was that a growing number of veerans are no longer recommending to their children to go into the military.

One finding was that veterans no longer have confidence in the military's leadership, either in its increasingly "woke" generals or their political superiors. A particular sticking point is the DEI that Biden-Harris have imposed on the military. Under Biden-Harris, there are now DEI officers scattered through the military, akin to the Political Officers of the old Soviet Army, and just as disliked. Even the service academies like West Point and Annapolis have DEI heavily embedded in their curriculum.

All of this wokeness is crushing military recruitment.

The only way to turn this problem around and save our military is to return President Trump to office so he can cleanse our military of this DEI plague.

Meanwhile, USA Today ran an excellent piece on why DEI has failed, labelling the program "divisive, extreme, and intolerant" using the University of Michigan as an example.

The CONFEDERATE military was fully integrated in 1861, way ahead of the US military.

Moron Bob again has it ass backwards on who is rewriting history. That is the left, with outrages like the 1619 Project, whose inventor had to finally admit it was not real history.

The US military was one of the first American institution to fully integrate. Those that opposed it, there were many, thought it woke as hell, but didn’t of course didn’t use that term.

Moron Bob strikes again, displaying his total ignorance of history. Free blacks in the South in 1861 amounted to 20% of the black population in the South. In fact, there were more free blacks in the South than there were free blacks in the north. It is the free blacks who joined the Confederate army. Here in Beaufort County, we had two thriving communities of free blacks prior to the War Between the States, one at Keysville, north of Washington, and the other a community of free black small farmers east of Bath. There was a large shipyard on the Pamlico River at WAshington woned by a free black mam.

Just for the record. I was in the military in 1957 going through basic and advanced combat training. My captain was black and a number of drill Sergeants. There was nothing woke about the unit that I was assigned to. My introduction was from a black drill sergeant who announced, "Gentlemen you are the chosen few. You are going to Tank Hill. There are two ways you can leave. One is to graduate, and the other is laying down".

The Confederate army WAS integrated. White and minority soldiers served together in the same units, and either could serve as officers. Blacks and other minorities in the Union army served in segregated regiments, black soliders led by white officers. You might want to watch the movie "Glory" which tells the story of one such Union regiment. The Confederate States Army was integrated in 1861 and it is sad that the United States army waited ninety years to do that.

The comment was irony, however I’m guessing back in the 40-50s integration of the military was woke woke woke.

I’m sure the receipt's can be found in the archives of the papers of the time.
