AZ election shananigans: Democrats trying to change rules on ballot counting | Eastern NC Now

move made days after the election while Senate seat and House seat undecided

ENCNow

Days after election day in Arizona and with a US Senate seat and a US House seat still undecided, the Democrats and their surrogates have asked the Arizona Supreme Court to suspend state election laws so they can try to find more votes.  The issue is the statutory deadline for "curing" defective ballots, which has already passed, but the Democrats want the court to go around the statutory law and extend that deadline.

Changing the rules after the game has been played is nothing but cheating, but that seems to be par for the course for Democrats.  One hopes that the Arizona Supreme Court will stand firm for election integrity and deny this partisan attempt to change rules after the fact for partisan advantage.  But, then, this IS Arizona which has not had the best record in recent years when it comes to election integrity.  Will the justices on the Arizona Supreme Court rule on the basis of fairness and upholding the law or will they rule on what benefits their own political party?

The Republican National Committee has filed a response to the Democrats' motion.

No integrity and and that's why they lost.

The Arizona court did the right thing on this one and stood by the election law as written. The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pull this stunt.
