Trump's coming war on the Mexican crime cartels | Eastern NC Now

The Mexican crime cartels have two major businesses, human smuggling and drug smuggling.  Under the Biden open borders policies, human smuglling has been their leading money maker, but drugs, particularly manufacturing and smuggling fentanyl into the US have also been highly profitable.  Now with Trump coming back to power, that is all about to change.

Trump's strict enforcement of our immigration laws and border security is going to take a big bite out of the cartel's lucrative human smuggling operations.  But that is not all that Trump plans.   His administration also plans to seriously attack the cartels' fentanyl business, which is killing tens of thousands of Americans.

Trump is appointing officials committed to breaking the Mexican crime cartels.  Incoming Border Czat Tom Homan has called for using "the full might of United States Special Operations to take them out" and "treating them like ISIS and wiping them off the face of the Earth".  Incoming Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has advocated "precision strikes" to destroy the cartels operations.

The Mexican crime cartels are in effect terrorist groups and need to be tackled as such.  One would hope the Mexican government would cooperate in their elimination, but if not we should do it on our own.  Our country is suffering from these crime cartels and they need to be eliminated.
