Harvard-Harris poll finds 61% of Americans support ending DEI in gov't hiring

Harvard-Harris' post election poll found that 61% of Americans support the Trump agenda of ending the DEI programs in government hiring. Only 19% favored keeping those programs.

There was also widespread support for other Trump agenda items. 72% support deporting illegal aliens who have committed crimes. 64% support closing the border to stop illegal aliens from entering. 58% support deporting illegal aliens who are receiving public assistance / welfare. 65% say they believe the government should stop paying for sex change operations. 60% support sanctions on Iran. 54% support making the 2017 tax cuts permanent (only 19% oppose). 53% support increasing tariffs on China (29% oppose).

George Washington freed all of his slaves in his will, a process called manumission. It was fairly common, usually focused on slaves who has earned particular favor, but sometimes as with Washington, applied to all slaves owned at death. That is a large part of the reason why there were more free blacks in the South than in the north at the time of the War Between the States.

I could say what you said Mr. Bob ("slaves cant consent to anything), in regards to women back in history: "women cant consent to anything."

Black men, ex-slaves got the right to vote before any woman did!
Women were owned by the men in their lives.

But that was then. Today is different. I have seen a black President, but not a woman president. Women could play the victim as easily as you do.

Does that make me want to punish all the men today, for what men did who were running the world back then? No, because that would be punishing innocent people. Put your thinking cap on. Stop being what you claim to hate.

The point is all things have a purpose in their time and evil thrives in the world.

Also Bob, just for reference, you know George Washington’s best friend, right hand man, most trusted confidant, and loyal brother was his black slave. There’s a little more to the issue than whips and chains but I’m sure you will never comprehend.

Personally I had nothing to do with enslaving anyone. So I’m going to continue living my life aiming to treat all people with mutual respect as equal individuals.

What ARE you Democrats going to do about the wrongs your party did, Bobbie? It was the Democrats who introduced and passed NC's Jim Crow laws at the turn of the century, as a political power play to break up the coalition between the Republicans and the Populist Party that had gained power in the state. Every Democrat in the General Assembly voted FOR Jim Crow and every Republican and Populist voted AGAINST it. The Democrats won power back running on an open platform of white supremacy, and Jim Crow was how they implemented it. Its your party's baby, Bobbie, so whatever you Democrats want to do about what you did over a century ago should NOT impose on those whose predecessors voted against Jim Crow.
