We have always had hurricanes, but the problem now is that the left wants to make our electric power supply much more vulnerable. And it is not just the left. RINO senate leader Phil Berger went hard left to sell out to Roy Cooper on NC's Green New Deal, which will make North Carolina's power supply much more vulnerable to hurricanes. Thanks to Berger, in a few years getting the power lines back up will be the least of our worries. No wonder Berger endorsed a liberal Democrat for judge, he has been pushing Cooper's liberal policy on this and other things for years.

Hurricanes can take out electric power temporarily by taking out the electric transmission lines, but those can be restored reasonably quickly. Conventional power is much more robust. Coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power plants do not go down and are there to supply power when the lines get put back up. The left is trying to make our electric grid much more vulnerable to hurricanes by switchin to power sources, wind and solar, that are extremely vulnernable to the powers of a hurricane. Thousands of solar panels and dozens of wind turbines were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Helene. They take a lot longer to replace, many months, than the power lines. The more dependant our electric grid gets on wind and solar, the more vulnerable we are to long term, months long, blackouts from hurricanes.
