Columbia's socialist president caves on taking back his country's migrants | Eastern NC Now

now Venezuela must be brought to heel

ENCNow

The socialist presidents of Columbia and Venezuela defied President Trump's deportation orders and announced they would not accept returned migrants.  In the case of Columbia's president Gustavo Petro, a former Marxist guerrilla, that defiance only lasted a matter of hours before he caved in and said he would accept the returned deportees.

President Trump had responded to Petro's defiance by announcing sweeping economic and political sanctions and travel bans on Columbia, including an immediate 25% tariff on Columbian goods, rising to 50% in a week if they continued to refuse to accept their migrants.  Petro reversed course quickly and even sent his own airplane to pick up Columbian deportees.

The next nut that needs to be cracked is Venezuela.

I read where some of the leaders of the extremely violent Tren de Aragua illegal alien crime gang were arrested in Trump's roundup and it turned out that the Biden regime had allowed them into the country on "catch and release". It is good that the grownups are back in charge.

It should be easy enough to deal with Venezuela if they continue to refuse to take their migrants. They have quite a few islands in the Caribbean, some uninhabited or with low population. All we would have to do is temporarily occupy one of them and dump their migrants on their territory with food and water and let Venezuela take them to the mainland.
