German election - climate alarmism now challenged from left as well as right | Eastern NC Now

populist left BSW attacks the climate agenda

ENCNow

The climate debate on the right in Germany's election campaign has now been joined by a similar climate debate among leftwing parties.  On the right, the traditional conservative CDU would rein in some but not all of the current climate agenda.  Their populist nationalist right competitors, the AfD, on the other hand calls for reopening the nuclear and coal power plants and phasing out expensive and unreliable wind and solar.

While the new populist left BSW led by former Left Party floor leader Sahra Wagenkrecht have always been climate sceptics, they have not emphasized it in their campaign until now.  They have zeroed in on the Green Party, also of the far left and are demanding an end to the expensive climate policies.  The BSW is a populist left party that follows traditional leftist dogma on economics but is stridently anti-immigration, anti-woke, and opposed to the climate agenda.

The Green Party has https://asentp.net/ been taking a beatng in the EU election and state elections in Germany, and have been losing vote share in polling for the parliamentary election this month.  Now that the BSW is going after them hard on the climate policies that give Germany the most expensive electric rates in the world, they are likely to take a further hit.  Climate alarmism has become a pocketbook issue.

Europe's farmers have aptly described the green agenda as "climate communism". As I recall, the "green" party block in the EU parliament was the biggest loser of seats in the last European election. That former president of the Caech republic was spot on when he called climate alarmism "a budding totalitarian ideology that is the greatest threat to freedom, democracy, and prosperity in the world today." Any party working to run these thugs out of office is to be congratulated.

The Green Party is Germany's most radical pro-migrant party. In spite of all German polls showing an overwhelming majority of Germans think there are too many migrants in the country already, the leadership of the Green Party is calling for making it easier of migrants already there to bring relatives, estimated at a million new migrants a year. This in spite of the fact that already migrants consume 63% of Germany's welfare spending as most of them do not work.
