Kerry Ellen Baggaley, a resident of Belhaven, NC, died on Friday, February 14, 2025, at ECU Hospital in Greenville, NC.

Kerry was born April 20, 1952 and grew up in Westfield, NJ, keeping busy with family and friends participating in activities like camping with her family and competitive swimming.

In 1970, Kerry left for college at Marshall University in Huntington, WV, receiving a bachelor's degree in early/elementary education. At Marshall, she was active in Sigma Kappa sorority.

Her studies led her to Morgantown, WV, where she pursued a Masters in Special Ed. She became part of the Good Counsel Friary prayer group, deepening her faith in Jesus and committing her life to following Him. She was part of two Christian households, Magnificat House and Bethany House. She worked on Antioch weekends, helping lead college students to Christ.

She moved to Va. Beach, to pursue a second Masters at Regent University. Then ministered in the Bronx, as a preschool supervisor/teacher before returning to Va. Beach. She continued her career in the Chesapeake school system, working in Special Education as a Transition Specialist. Eventually she joined the department of Education at Regent University as Internship Supervisor. In 2010, she co-authored an educational textbook, "Loving Our Differences for Teachers."

In 2001, Kerry made what she called the best decision of her life when she adopted Scott and Samantha. She loved her children fiercely and poured into them, making sure they participated in activities like scouting, sports, and Sunday School, all while being a working single adoptive mom.

Kerry made many, many friends through the years. She was a generous, loving sister, mother, and friend who was very good at keeping in touch, through phone calls, letters, visits and, more recently, Facebook. She spent the last 4 years in her "Happy Place", Belhaven, NC, among several old friends and visited by her kids.

We will all miss her, but she has left us with many happy memories. God is good.

A viewing will be offered at 10 AM with funeral service starting at 11 AM Monday, February 24 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home located at 434 Main Street, Belhaven and will be officiated by Pastor Brian Oliver.

Surviving Kerry are her son Robert Scott Baggaley, her daughter Samantha Ellen Baggaley, her granddaughter Addison, brother Brad Baggaley and sister Cathy Thompson.
