Search Warrant Results in Seizure of Drugs, Firearms, and Stolen Property | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On Tuesday February 18, 2025, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Raleigh, North Carolina executed a search warrant at a residence on Old Saw Mill Rd in Blounts Creek, NC.

    Deputies seized approximately 14.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 31 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of marijuana, $3,353 in cash, and multiple firearms. Deputies also recovered an ATV that was previously stolen from a residence in Beaufort County.

    This case concluded a month-long investigation into the distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit and the DEA.

    The following individuals were charged as a result of this search warrant:

    48-year-old Dennis Clemons of Brooklyn, NY was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 Cash Only Bond for the following charges:

• -(1) count of Trafficking Methamphetamine
• -(1) count of Felony Conspiracy

    46-year-old Alan Craig Doyle of Blounts Creek, NC was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured Bond for the following charges:

• (1) count of Trafficking Methamphetamine
• -(1) count of Trafficking in Fentanyl
• -(1) count of Felony Conspiracy
• -(1) count of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep/Sell Controlled Substances
• -(1) count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

    53-year-old Rodney Allen Townsend of New Bern, NC was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured Bond for the following charge:

• -(1) count of Felony Possession of Schedule II CS (Fentanyl)

    42-year-old Matthew David Gibble of New Bern, NC was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured Bond for the following charge:

• -(1) count of Felony Possession of Schedule II CS (Fentanyl)

    Beaufort County Sheriff Scott Hammonds is continuing to work to identify and address the problems created by dangerous illegal drugs being sold in Beaufort County. Illegal drug use and drug sales are the main contributors to crimes, such as breaking and entering, theft, and robbery. These dangerous drugs can affect anyone regardless of race, economic status, or place of residence. Sheriff Hammonds continues to work with his staff, surrounding law enforcement agencies, and public partners to reduce the effects of deadly fentanyl in Beaufort County through enforcement, public awareness, and education.
