Offshore wind farms are one of the biggest threats to the critically endangered Atlantic Right Whale. They are also a threat to the livlihood of commercial fishermen and to coastal tourism. Offshore wind turbines are one of the most expensive ways to make electricity and raise electric rates substantially to consumers. Making electricity with offshore wind turbines is generally four times as expensive as conventional sources. Thus there were many groups cheering when the Trump EPA blocked the permit for New Jersey's massive Atlantic Shores planned offshore wind farm.
A full permit was issued late in the Biden administration for the project, but at the request of the Trump EPA, a federal environmental appeals judge invalidated it and returned it to the EPA for further evaluation. There is little doubt that EPA will now fully kill it. Two community organizations and an environmental group were suing to stop the project.
Offshore wind projects divide environmentalists. On one hand, the CO2 climate crusaders with their tunnel vision obsession with CO2 are fully in support of the Climate Industrial Complex industrializing our oceans with wind turbines. On the other, traditional environmentalists, concerned with wildlife habitat, saving wildlife, and maintaining a natural environment, are fiercely opposed to them.

The Democrat in Raleigh have been pushed hard to foist this offshore wind boondoggle and environmental threat in our own state waters.

Trump's goal is to reduce energy costs, which Biden sent through the roof. That means more conventional energy, not intermittant and high priced wind and solar. Saving the Atlantic Right Whale is just one of the fringe benefits. Wind turbines are also a threat to other marine life life seabirds, crabs, dolphins, etc. Wind turbines alos put the commercial fishermen out of business. Oil drilling does not harm the environment unless there happens to be a very rare spill. Whales have been washing up on beaches repeatedly since they started building wind turbines.
One of the problems for marine life is the power cables. University studies in the UK have found, for example, that migrating crabs get to a power cable and just stop there and don't move, eventually dying. The blades of wind turbines also crew up seabirds. When a wind farm was built in the Irish Sea near the Isle of Man, the annual sea bird cunsus on the Isle of Man fell sharply. Wind turbines are a threat to wildlife and consumers should not be forcefed their overpriced electricity. |

Trump has no interest in saving the whales or lowering your utility bills. He plans on drilling in the ocean. Drilling will kill far more then the whales. Drill Baby Drill.

Cutting back on expensive and unreliable wind and solar energy is key to keeping our utility rates low. This stuff is also extremely vulnerable in hurricanes and other major stomrs, which a conventional electric plant is NOT. Offshore wind is also the absolute worst.

Hurricanes have devastated wind and solar "farms" on land. It will be much worse if these things are planted off the southeast coast.
